Haben Sie sich schon immer mal gefragt wie die elektronischen Verkehrsschilder auf Autobahnen auf die Anzeigetafel kommen? Wie bei fast jedem Kommunikationsprozess – es findet eine Menge hinter den Kulissen statt.

In einem europäischen Land hat sich eine Agentur darüber Gedanken gemacht wie man auf moderne Art und Weise die Informationens-Panals auf der Autobahn steuern könnte. Der Endkunde wollte seine Applikation neu gestalten, da diese zur damaligen Zeit mit einem 2G GSM Modem ausgestattet war. Es wurde sich für einen Rockwell Automation® Micro850 Kontroller entschieden. Rockwell Automation schlug vor einen Industrial Cellular Gateway von ProSoft Technology zu integrieren. Die Unterstützung von ProSoft während der Prototypenphase überzeugte den Kunden.

In dem verbesserten System erhält die Micro850 Steuerung über SMS Informationen vom Industrial Cellular Gateway, der an die Hauptsteuerung angeschlossen war. Die Micro850 Steuerung ändert dann je nach Kommando dden Status auf den Panals mit  digital E/A Signalen. Somit sind die Autofahrer jederzeit auf dem aktuellsten Stand.
