Which SIM card should I use with my ICX35-HWC?
There are 2 types of SIM cards that could be used with the ICX35-HWC Industrial Cellular Gateway.
- Standard SIM cards, the same cards used by cellular phones.
- M2M SIM cards, dedicated to Machine-to-Machine communication.
When should I use a Standard SIM card?
Standard SIM cards can be used if you plan to use the ICX35-HWC with Belden Horizon™ for temporary remote access to your system. They can also be used for permanent communications if the ICX35-HWC is used as an Open VPN client, but this requires the presence of an Open VPN Server to manage the communications.
When should I use an M2M SIM card?
M2M SIM cards can be used for the same usages as standard SIM cards, and also allow the following usage: Permanent communications without the presence of an Open VPN server to manage the communications.
